The Vetcall group was established in 1976 and has since assisted thousands of local pets from puppy or kitten hood right through to their senior years. At Vetcall Ashmore, we aim to provide a comprehensive, professional and compassionate veterinary service. We recognise the significance of your pets and the place they hold in your family. Our highly qualified team of vets includes Dr Peter Elliott, Dr Stacey Devine, Dr Donna Rodgers, Dr Mikayla Clowes, and Dr Sonja Pieters, and they have knowledge and experience in feline medicine, advanced surgery, diagnostic imaging, geriatric care, dental care, and more. Our animal healthcare team will offer education, advice and care to ensure your pet has the longest, happiest and healthiest life possible.
Dr Peter Elliott joined Vetcall in 1995. He shares his house with inspector Lex and Lucy, the Devon rex cats and Brynn the whippet. He has a special interest in feline medicine and improving the quality of life in older pets.
After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2007, Stacey worked in the Gold Coast Hinterland as a Mixed Animal Vet. She then set her sights on the UK and worked as a locum across the country side in small animal and emergency practice.
The last few years Stacey worked as a small animal vet at the Northern End of the Gold Coast prior to joining the Vetcall group. Stacey is just about to finish her Master's Degree in Veterinary Science which covers all aspects of your pet's health.
Stacey is passionate about preventative health care and has a special interest in surgery and diagnostic imaging.
Donna graduated from University of Queensland in 2007 and has worked locally in the Gold Coast Hinterland as a mixed animal vet. She joined the Vetcall team in 2018 and has a special interest in advanced animal medicine and ultrasonography. She spends her time away from the clinic with her leggy greyhound Twiggy and her 2 rascally cats TK and Buddy.
Mikayla joined our team in May 2019. Freshly graduated from James Cook University in Townsville, Mikalya has wanted to be a vet since she was 6 years old. She has a special interest in feline medicine.
Sonja has joined the team in October 2019 from South Africa where she was a mixed animal vet. She graduated in 2008 and has worked with dogs, cats, birds, snakes and even lots of lions before moving to Australia. She is looking forward to expanding her knowledge in soft tissue surgery and advanced dental care. Here she is cuddling one of our patients Charlie after his general check up.
Meet Helen our new vet at Vetcall Ashmore
Dr Helen brings a wealth of experience to Vetcall Ashmore with 30 years of adventures, challenges and patients on the road to recovery. Her favourite part about being a vet is that no day is the same for even the simplest problems and that we can make our patients and client's days better. In Helen's spare time she likes to bush walk, get into the garden and she also has working draught horses. She has a big furr family consisting of her cats; Bully, the 15-year-old 3-legged love-sponge cat and Mr Chang, the 15-year-old zen master cat. Her dog squad are Jock, a 15-year-old unicorn shihtzu x and Holly, a 5-year-old zany curly coated retriever. To top it all off she has Jordy, a 12-year-old cockatoo!
Please welcome Dr. Frank!
Frank has been part of the Ashmore team since January 2021 after graduating in December 2020. His favorite part about being a vet is solving challenging cases which we get plenty of in our clinic. Dr. Frank has a special interest in diagnostic imaging and small animal endocrine medicine. In his spare time he likes to travel, compete in futsal and has been playing soccer since he was 7 years old. Come and meet Dr Frank today!
Rosa has been working at Vetcall since 2011, starting out as a kennel hand and is now a qualified Veterinary Nurse after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nurse, and she absolutely loves it. Rosa has a keen interest in animal dentistry and dental radiology which we practice and perform almost everyday.
After many years in corporate positions, Brionie decided to follow her life-long dream to study and work as a veterinary nurse.
Brionie is fur-mum to two Kelpies, an Australian Stock Horse, a Miniature Horse (who is a giant on the inside), two adorable Tonkinese cats and three cranky retired chickens. In her spare time, Brionie enjoys working on her property with her husband and daughters.
Cassie has been working in the veterinary industry for over 10 years and has been a part of the Vetcall family since 2013. She is compassionate about all creatures and has found her dream job being surrounded by animals all day everyday. She has a soft spot for the 'golden oldies' and has a life long love for Bull Terriers. Outside of work, Cassie is kept busy with constant visits to the beach and park with Vandal (pictured) where he enjoys playing soccer.
Kendall has been part of the Vetcall team since December 2013 after her graduation from high school.
Kendall obtained her Cert IV Veterinary Nursing qualification in 2019.
Her specialty is caring for our hospital patients as she has always had a passion for nursing animals helping them on their way to recovery.
Kendall also loves to care for and raise abandoned animals that find their way to our clinic. She also enjoys working on reception where she can interact with clients and their furry babies.
Kendall and her partner's furry family consists of 3 perfect kitties, Lulu the special soul tonkinese, Buckley the foodaholic rescue cat, and Pepe the 19 year old grumpy old man.
Kaycee has been part of the team since 2017 and graduated her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in May 2019. Kaycee enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and nursing animals back to health. In her own time she and her husband take their ginger ninja cat Cyro on walks as they have lead trained him, so he can explore the neighbourhood.
Rylee started with Vetcall in 2019 and has worked between our Mudgeeraba, Burleigh, and Ashmore Clinics. She is now a full-time team member at Ashmore.
Rylee enjoys Surgery and Dentistry and has a very keen interest in exotic animal nursing.
At home, Rylee has a Golden Retriever named Cooper, a cat called Quila, 4 rats, 2 parrots, a turtle named Squirt, and has plans to add more to her mini zoo in the future.
Jana has been a part of the Vetcall team since 2020. Originally from Germany, Jana found her place on the Gold Coast in 2014 and now lives on Tamborine Mountain with her partner, their cutie cat Max and their fluffball Smithfield Collie Charlie.
Always having a passion for the wellbeing of animals, Jana completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and began her journey volunteering at an animal shelter on the Gold Coast which was where she fell in love with Max. Jana’s dream is to open an animal sanctuary of her own.
In her spare time, you will find Jana on her Yoga mat or at the beach soaking up the sun.
Erin has been part of the Vetcall Ashmore team since 2014, starting out while still in high school as an afternoon Kennel Hand.
Erin is now a qualified Cert IV Veterinary Nurse. She enjoys all aspects of the nursing role, however, has a keen interest in surgical nursing.
Erin's fur family includes Wilson the Border Terrier, Dotti the Irish Wolfhound, and Kit Kat the Manx cat.
Charlotte has been part of the Vetcall Team since March 2017. Originally from Cornwall in the U.K, She now lives on the Gold Coast with her Husband, three beautiful cats and bouncy yellow Labrador Ollie "Pictured"
Charlotte loves being a veterinary nurse and describes the role as her "Dream job" as it is something she has always wanted to do. She enjoys all aspects of nursing and ensuring our patients are comfortable and happy whilst in our care. She has a "Soft spot" for our senior patients and always makes sure they get lots of extra cuddles.
Charlotte recognises the importance of client education and is always happy to discuss the patients nutrition, dental health, parasite preventative options and general patient wellbeing with our clients.
Aleta has been a kennel hand at Vetcall Ashmore since 2017. After returning to the workforce after raising her 2 children, she realised that a career with animals was something that she always dreamed of. As well as working at Vetcall, she dedicates 2 days a week volunteering at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, where her passion for wildlife nursing lies.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and her variety of pets that include chickens, a cat, a puppy, a python and even a bearded dragon!
